Cample Line is an independent arts organisation in the south-west of Scotland, dedicated to presenting thought-provoking international contemporary art and film. Its next exhibition will be of Sara Barker‘s work, which blurs the lines between sculpture, painting and drawing, the figurative and the abstract, and between imagined and physical space – neither sculpture nor painting. These recent large-scale works use angular, indented aluminium trays or ‘trenches’, as containers for painted and sculptural elements, and a number of exploratory works with a raw, rough execution, wherein metal, glass, wood, wool and wire meet.
