Edinburgh’s Institut Français is getting into the live music act with the opening of the 2021-22 Salons en Musique season.

Comprising cellist Charlotte Kaslin, violinist Enyuan Khong and pianist Elisabeth Pion, the De Beauvoir Trio (pictured) took second prize in this year’s Virtuoso e Belcanto Festival Chamber Music Competition in Lucca, Tuscany. They will be performing pieces by women composers Fanny Mendelssohn (sister of Felix) and Lili Boulanger, the first female winner of the Prix de Rome (18th October). Drawing inspiration from the classical repertoire and electronic composition and improvisation, violinist Diane Aidenbaum, cellist Timothée Botbol and electronic musician Pascal Savy perform an electro-acoustic concert (29th October).
