The Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) has launched its first online exhibition, featuring more than 70 paintings by some of Scotland’s top artists. The RSW had planned to stage its 140th Annual Exhibition at the Kirkcudbright Art Gallery, but Covid-19 restrictions have required it to be moved online. The show includes landscapes, portraits, wildlife studies and abstract works, all of which are for sale. Many of them reflect a year spent in lockdown, with some artists painting the places immediately around them, from Skeabost on Skye to the Solway Firth, while others have dreamed of places they have been unable to visit, from Venice to Tokyo to Zanzibar. All the works are for sale.
