Roberta Fulford: Rooted/Flowing/Wild at Edinburgh’s Dundas Street Gallery features paintings and sculpture by the Shetland-based artist, who draws on the wild skies, seas and wilderness surrounding her island home. Created in response to her immersion in the ever-changing drama and beauty of the landscape, the works depict and celebrate the universal and enduring relevance of nature and our evolving relationship with the environment. Roberta uses a broad variety of media and methods, including large-scale paintings incorporating metal leaf and sculptures in materials ranging from traditional cast bronze to locally foraged, dried seaweed, mirror-polished stainless steel and even a decommissioned oil rig and a bird’s wing.
