Resipole Studios Fine Art Gallery in Acharacle, Argyll is featuring a selection of new paintings by Scottish artist Michael Corsar, who specialises in landscapes inspired by his love for the unique Scottish light, which, as the gallery puts it, ‘radiates from his canvases’. His paintings are meticulously-crafted in oil, beginning with a near-black canvas and gradually summoning an image by removing darkness and introducing illumination, working largely from memory. His paintings are described as ‘reflections of inner thoughts and feelings at specific moments rather than straightforward representations of an actual place’, thereby leaving the viewer space to contemplate.
