Glasgow Print Studio is showing a retrospective of the career of Dame Elizabeth Blackadder DBE, RA, RSA, RSW, RGI (1931 – 2021), encompassing work by this popular artist over thirty years, and celebrating her long-standing relationship with the Studio. While Blackadder was a highly productive painter, she was also a keenly experimental printmaker, working over a wide range of techniques and processes such as lithography, screenprint, etching, aquatint, carborundum, drypoint and woodcut. The exhibition offers a chance also to enjoy many of her well-known subjects, such as travels in Italy and Japan, still lifes, and naturally, her famous cats.
