Kilmorack Gallery in Beauly, Inverness-shire is showing a new exhibition introducing the work of Calum McClure – an artist ‘immersed in the power and possibilities of paint’, whose oil paintings and large expressive monotypes are the product of a fascination with the borderless world of nature and its fragile resistance.

Influenced by the art of his grandfather David McClure, Calum has fostered a unique blend of painterly prowess and bold expression, earning him accolades and admirers.

Two current exhibitions at the gallery will end 31st Oct: seven new paintings by Scottish landscape artist Maggie New, and new works by Brother Daniel Morphy, who entered Pluscarden Abbey following his graduation from Camberwell College of Art.

Established in 1997 by Tony Davidson, Kilmorack Gallery’s home is an 18th-century church in rural Inverness-shire. It exhibits paintings and sculpture year-round, and in the intervening 27 years has followed the belief that art should speak for the benefit of humanity, creating a home of international merit.
