A new exhibition at the Threshold Artspace at Perth Concert Hall, entitles Stage, explores the relationship between contemporary visual art and the performing arts. Projected across a ‘a canvas’ of 22 flat screens, Bologna-born, Edinburgh-based artist Claudia Nocentini’s ‘Ink in Movement’ is a ‘sketchbook’ inspired by dance duo Errol White and Davina Givan substituting traditional ink brushwork with styles marks made with a Zen Brush app. Also inspired by White & Givan, Scottish artist Theresa Pickles has created ‘Breathe’, a 22-channel video art installation featuring snippets of a dance duet created and performed by White and Givan infused with heavy ‘breathing’ of typography, images and animations. Throughout the run creative director Iliyana Nedkova will host regular Wednesday morning Coffee, Croissant and Art tours of the exhibition.
