Hilary Barker’s highland cows and Janet McCrorie’s highland dancers are among the most popular images created by contemporary Scottish artists, both series finding their way onto a range of prints, cards and other merchandise. So it is appropriate that both artists are featured in the Rattray Art Festival in Blairgowrie, this year entitled A Highland Fling. They are supported by Keith Brown’s scenic wild fowl paintings, created around his home on the Solway Firth, alongside work by 30 or so Perthshire artists.
