By Hammer and Hand at the Perth Museum & Art Gallery tells the story, through objects, artwork and archive material, of the merchants who made Perth and the crafts they produced. Who were they, what did they make and sell and why were they organised into Incorporated Trades and the Merchant Guilds? A selection of artworks from the museum’s nationally recognised collection will also be on display, including the oldest known painting from Perth, a portrait of St Bartholomew, the patron saint of Glovers.
