Paul Duke: No Ruined Stone at the City Art Centre in Edinburgh is a photographic series which balances a documentary approach with highly personal insights to explore the built environment of the city’s Muirhouse area and its residents at a time of significant urban regeneration and social flux.

Duke grew up in Muirhouse for the first 18 years of his life from the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s. He embarked on this project determined to reconnect with his roots. While raising issues around social inequality and poverty, No Ruined Stone is underpinned by a message of human resilience and strength of character.
