Featured artist in January at Larks Gallery in Ballater is Paul Bartlett – a self-taught artist with a PhD in animal behaviour. An elected member of the Society of Wildlife Artists (SWLA), Paul won Artist of the Year in 2006 and the Langford Press award in 2012. Twice a category winner and overall runner-up in David Shepherd’s Wildlife Artist of the Year competition, Paul won the ‘British Birds’ category for the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year in 2009, with his work has featuring in numerous art publications and books. Keen on mountaineering and kayaking, he lives in St Andrews in Fife.
