Amanda Seibæk: Hemispheres in the Acid Bar at SWG3 in Glasgow features this year’s winner of the SWG3 Graduate Programme, which supports one artist each year with free studio space and an exhibition.
Amanda was one of the graduates featured in last month’s Graduate Show at Tatha Gallery in Newport-on-Tay; working across print, digital and painting, she draws from diverse sources, from neuroscience or the earth’s rotation in space to a tale told by a friend, or a new colour noticed on a walk. Here, she explores the relationship between a whole and its parts, drawn out through specific themes, including both hemispheres of the human brain and its network of neural pathways, signals and connections. She also explores the the relationship between light and dark, bloom and decay.
