With almost a thousand artworks on show, the Big Art Show in the Art Department in Paisley  is the biggest visual art exhibition the town has ever seen. The large, open plan, white-walled space in the former Allders Co-op Department Store will host a range of media by local and national artists and makers, from absolute beginners to emerging artists to experienced talent and including drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, digital art, film, video, photography, textiles and installation. Up to £2,500 in prize money has been donated by a variety of sponsors.

Organised by Outspoken Arts Scotland, the show is partnered with the Society of Scottish Artists, which will showcase work by a selected group of members. Other features include an Open Studio section, when artists will pop up every weekend and make art live, artists’ sofa talks and free creative learning classes. Most artworks will be for sale.
