Aberfeldy Gallery is hosting a solo show by Pascale Rentsch, a Swiss-born artist living in East Lothian, where she makes the most of her surrounding countryside and coast, drawing and painting ‘en plein air’. She says, ‘When painting in all weathers, there can be many practical challenges – the wind blowing my paintings across the Lammermuir Hills, low temperatures freezing my paints and frequent rain. All of these aspects are channelled into the marks and brushstrokes and it all comes together as an expression of my experience and feelings in that moment.’ Pascale is a multiple award-winner, most recently of the RSW Scottish Arts Club Award 2021 at the annual Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh for her diptych Autumn Heather, Lammermuir Hills. She is exhibited throughout the UK.

The show takes place alongside a large mixed exhibition by established and emerging Scottish artists. The gallery has a wide variety of landscape and wildlife art, ranging from representational to impressionistic.
