Ouseburn Open Studios 2017
March 18 & 19, from 10am – 5pm
The little sister to the annual Open Studios, the Spring event is certainly smaller in scale but still has so much to see and do. With over 50 artists and studios to explore over 5 sites, techniques to learn and practices to watch, beautiful and engaging exhibitions to take in and diverse architecture to absorb, a wander around the cultural quarter of our city is a wonderful way to spend some time, pick up an original piece of work and to discover the delights of the Ouseburn Valley.
Jim Edwards will be opening his studio doors at 59 Lime Street and presenting Outside In, a series of paintings that capture some other iconic North East interiors, and their spectacular exterior views. He’ll be returning to The Free Trade, this time during an evening setting, and also painting the interiors of The Sage, The Baltic and The Cumberland Arms.
And I’m all set for next weekend’s Ouseburn Open Studios. I’m looking forward to once again opening my studio doors at along with the other creative venues throughout the Ouseburn Valley.
The other venues taking part in this years Spring Ouseburn Open Studios are The Biscuit factory, Northern Print, 36 Lime Street and Mushroom Works, but make sure you come and see me first at 59 Lime Street. There will be a prize draw, if you visit all five venues. Collect all five stamps on your brochure, and you’ll be in with a chance of winning a host of arty prizes.
