Many of the top lots in Edinburgh sale room Lyon & Turnbull‘s flagship Contemporary Art auction are by Scottish art-world heavyweights. Highlights include some of the finest works by Victoria Crowe to appear at auction, scarce to market and exquisitely executed pastels by Ken Currie and Elizabeth Blackadder still lifes of superb quality. There are also fine examples by Jack Vettriano, John Bellany, Peter Howson, Alberto Morrocco (whose work is pictured), James Morrison, Alasdair Gray and John Byrne. Showing alongside the auction is an exhibition of new works by the Lyon & Turnbull 2023 Graduate Showcase Award-winner Lizzie Henson.

Following this, the sale room will mount its August Edinburgh Festivals 2024 edition of Prints & Multiples, which is led by a striking screenprint by renowned Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, and includes work by Ed Rusha, Robert Rauschenberg, Helmut Newton and Cindy Sherman.
