Amarone Glasgow’s Best Restaurant

One to watch

It’s always fun to try to identify the culinary stars of the future. So our tip from the recent Glasgow Restaurant Awards is to watch out for Morven Gibson of the Restaurant at Blythswood Square. She was named young chef of the year at last month’s awards ceremony. Overall, the public had cast more than 17,000 votes for the 90 restaurants nominated, voting Amarone Glasgow’s Best Restaurant (picture shows the Amarone team with their award).

The Glasgow Restaurants Association also honoured Jim and Gilly Wilson with its Lifetime Achievement award. The pair, who have been involved with a number of Glasgow institutions such as Rogano, the Buttery and Charlie Parker’s, have dedicated over 45 years to the industry.
