7 October 2015 – 11 October 2015,Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh, EH2 2HG

No longer is Oktoberfest something you have to head for Germany to experience. This year, Edinburgh has gone especially Oktoberfest-mad. The biggest event, with a 1.500 people tent, starts off with a hop-soaked 4 days at Princes Street Gardens with so much beer, food and music that, it’s just like being in Munich.

Sunday is a family day, complete with bratwurst-centred lunch options. The tunes are courtesy of real Bavarian Bands flown in from southern Germany and promising to have you dancing on the tables to hits like ‘Zikke Zakke’ and ‘Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit’

The Bavarian celebration takes place in the colourful Oktoberfest tent in West Princes Street Gardens with a great line up of live music from bands who have travelled all the way from southern Germany. On the menu there’ll be great German brewed beer and tasty German Schnitzel, all served up by the Edinburgh Oktoberfest team dressed in traditional Dirndl and Lederhosen.

Entry on Wednesday is free, it’s just £5 for entry on Thursday and Sunday and on Friday and Saturday there will be a £10 entrance fee. There are also a range of packages on offer which include food, beer and seat reservations from £31-£44.

The tent is open from 4pm to 11pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and from 12.30pm to 7.30pm on Sunday. On Saturday there will be two sessions, the first from 11.30am to 4.30pm and the second from 5pm to 11.30pm.

And Dundonians don’t need to book a flight to Munich or a trip to Edinburgh for some beer action: The Rotary Club of Dundee is delighted to present Dundee’s fifth Oktoberfest to be held in the atmospheric venue of the Discovery Quay on Dundee’s Waterfront. This beer festival will feature live bands and some great authentic German food, as well as the real star of the show – many different Real Ales (some local), ciders and continental beers. All proceeds go to the Rotary Charity to support local charitable causes. https://www.dundeerotaryoktoberfest.co.uk
