The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art is hosting Barbara Hepworth: Art & Life – a retrospective of the fifty-year career of one of the defining figures of British modernism, and the most comprehensive survey of her work since her death in 1975. Key developments such as her 1920s career-launching abstract carvings, the string sculptures of the post-war era, and her workings with bronze. Altogether more than 120 sculptures, paintings and drawings are on show, alongside an insight into her interests, such as her engagement with social and political change and the events in her personal life.
