Girl from the North Country at His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen reimagines the songs of Bob Dylan (21st – 25th Feb). Set in 1934 in the heartland of America, a group of wayward souls cross paths in a time-weathered guesthouse. Standing at a turning point in their lives, they realise nothing is what it seems, but as they search for a future and hide from the past, they find themselves facing unspoken truths about the present.
Fast forwarding to the 1960s, The Mirror Crack’d sees the return to the stage of Agatha Christie’s deceptively disarming amateur detective Miss Marple set about unravelling a web of lies following a brutal murder in the sleepy village of St. Mary Mead (28th Feb – 4th March). This adaptation of Christie’s crime novel stars Susie Blake as Miss Marple. She says, ‘To play a bright, independent, older woman is surprising and exciting for the period it was written in as well as in our society today.’
