Following her exhibition in London, Chrissie Hynde is showing her paintings for the first time in Scotland, in an exhibition at Harvey & Woodd in Edinburgh. Hynde Sight 2 is an imaginative move towards abstraction, with a surreal touch, with playful figures with swirling limbs, in meditative poses, eggs resting in trees, and intense faces appearing out of rocks.

These are displayed alongside more personal subjects – portraits of friends, guitars and dogs and evocative depictions of flowers. The gallery has also selected a sequence of balcony images, painted over recent years, that are lyrical reflections of movement and stillness with compositions of iron against stone echoing Edinburgh’s railings.

Chrissie has enjoyed worldwide success in her career as a singer, songwriter and leader of the band Pretenders.
