New Gallery I The Collective

EDINBURGH

Due to open this spring, The Collective may be able to boast the most dramatic location of any Edinburgh art space and will certainly offer the best views. The capital’s new home for contemporary art, complete with cafe- restaurant, will follow the £4 million restoration of architect William Playfair’s City Observatory site on Calton Hill, moving in exactly 200 years after it rst opened in 1818. The inaugural exhibition, Af nity and Allusion, features new works by various artists developed in relation to the site plus a permanent outdoor commission by Tessa Lynch.
