Online activities

The National Galleries of Scotland in the capital have mounted an imaginative series of online initiatives for the family, based on its collection: these include creative activities for children, art quizzes, talks, short films and the stories behind parts of their collection that are recently being aired online but not physically viewable.

The current week’s #homeart activity for younger children is based on a series of artworks by Louise Bourgeois. The image shown represents her friendship with Jerry Gorovoy; the hands are painted on top of printed musical score paper in red, and the title 10am is When You Come to Me refers to the time that Gorovoy would arrive at Bourgeois’ studio to begin their daily collaborative routine, which lasted thirty years.
