While the National Galleries of Scotland‘s process of phased reopening continues, it is making tickets available for its autumn exhibition, Ray Harryhausen: Titan of CinemaThe exhibition opens 24th Oct and runs until 5th Sep 2021, with the initial sale tickets limited to the first three months of the run, until 17th Jan.

Over a 50-year career, Harryhausen’s mastery of special effects made him the leader in his field, and the science-fiction and fantasy cinema of directors such as Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Peter Jackson, Sam Raimi, Tim Burton and Guillermo del Toro all owe a debt to Harryhausen as a formative influence, or even the reason they became film-makers in the first place. Further information about the man, and tickets for the exhibition, can be found on the exhibition’s web page.
