Currently on show at Morningside Gallery in Edinburgh is the first solo exhibition by Fife-based painter Morag Muir PAI RSW: Through an East Coast Window comprises 34 new paintings exploring the rhythms of daily life.

Morag works from her Victorian house in Newport-on-Tay overlooking the firth, and draws inspiration from objects that comprise her altarpiece-like still-lifes, and the ever-changing scene of the river and the Tay Bridge to Dundee.

The Gallery recently won a Curatorial Excellence Award at the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea in October: exhibiting for the first time at the autumn exhibition, the Gallery impressed with its ‘beautifully curated stand that is balanced and cohesive, providing a valuable experience for visitors’ in the words of UK Fair Director Hugo Barclay, who was joined on the Fair’s awards’ judging panel by art historian, comedian, and presenter Verity Babbs and Director of Aqua Art Miami Cordelia de Freitas.
