One of the oldest independent arts festivals in Scotland, Perth Festival of the Arts celebrates its 50th anniversary this year (18th – 29th May). Highlights include Reverie, a biographical programme of the composer Claude Debussy’s words and music, written in 2012 to celebrate his 150th anniversary (20th May); the award-winning choir Tenebrae with a programme of music composed for the Virgin Mary (23rd May); and Opera Bohemia is making its festival debut with an intimate chamber version of Puccini’s masterpiece Madama Butterfly (26th – 27th May). And as reported in Artmag.co.uk, the annual ArTay art fair runs 19th – 21st May.
