A new exhibition at the UK’s oldest open-access print studio, Edinburgh Printmakers, shines a spotlight on some of the incredible artists who have created work there, reaching back to the late-1970s onwards. The exhibition centres round three themes: a selection of graphic, colourful and experimental work and archival objects and historic exhibition posters; selected pairs from the archive which share common themes, such as print methods and subject matter, and a selection of work in which artists have responded to text such as fiction, poetry and prose – a persistent theme in the work of the studio throughout the decades.

Works on show include prints by Eduardo Paolozzi, Graham Fagen, Sam Ainsley (whose work is pictured), Katy Dove, Adrian Wiszniewski, Stan Bonnar, Rachel Maclean, Toby Paterson, Pio Abad, Hardeep Pandhal and Jacqueline Donachie. Visitors will also have the chance to see archive items, including a lithography stone used by John Byrne for his 2014 print Moonstruck.
