Online auctions are planned to continue throughout the spring into summer at auctioneer Lyon & Turnbull’s Edinburgh and London sale rooms: Design Since 1860 is next up on 21 Apr, Select Jewellery & Watches on 22 Apr, and their inaugural sale of Lalique on 29th April will feature vintage pieces by the luxury brand, including some of its most famous creations and 57 pieces from a private European collection. This is followed by Modern Made: Modern British & Post-War Art, Design & Studio Ceramics on 30 Apr, and African & Oceanic Art & Antiquities on 5 May, featuring over 300 artefacts, some of them hundreds of millions of years old and many of them resembling abstract sculptural works. They include a woolly rhinoceros jawbone from the North Sea, a large nautilus shell from Madagascar and a trio of fossilised wood specimens. Whisky & Wine on 13th May and Fine Asian Works of Art on 14th May are followed by Five Centuries: Furniture, Paintings & Works of Art on 19th May, Jewellery, Watches & Silver on 2nd June, and finally Scottish Paintings & Sculpture ft. A Century of Joan Eardley on 3rd June – a fitting way of marking the centenary anniversary of the birth of one of Scotland’s most-loved 20th-century painters.

Established in 1826, Lyon & Turnbull is Scotland’s oldest auction house and the UK’s largest independent auction house outside London. Full information on the auctions’ locations and the lots to browse are available on Lyon & Turnbull’s website
