Good to hear from the Borders that the hospitality of the Wheatsheaf Hotel has been extended. The popular hotel in Swinton is a great place for food and now it is open every day of the week for lunch. Daily menus reflect the freshest deliveries: fish from Eyemouth, long-matured beef and other locally sourced seasonal produce.

The specials’ board might offer halibut, king prawns or scallop and the 35-day matured Borders beef steaks come in your choice of style and size. Not surprisingly it was named Best Restaurant in Scottish Borders at the Scottish Hotel Awards 2013. If you pick up the May/June copy of Artmag you’ll find an offer for 15% off your food bill at lunchtimes on Mondays to Fridays until 31 July, 2014.
