Aberfeldy Gallery in Perthshire exhibits a variety of contemporary art by established and emerging Scottish artists. The Gallery specialises in a wide variety of landscape and wildlife art – ranging from representational to impressionistic – and selected Perthshire scenes, and this month plays host to an exhibition featuring 22 original pieces by Lucy Newton, in addition to a mixed exhibition.
Lucy’s first-hand observations of nature stem from growing-up near West Calder and she works from life as much as possible, working in a range of media including watercolour, pencil, pen and ink, monoprint, wax crayon and collage, seeking to capture ‘just a fraction of the beauty of my subjects’.
