Lorena Levi: Would Give Zero Stars If I Could at the Alchemy Experiment in Glasgow is the painter’s debut solo show. Based on Tripadvisor restaurant reviews, the ten narrative scenes show a more detailed and scathing side of personal opinion, transforming the reviews into a form of internet entertainment. Levi also bases paintings on stories she finds online, inviting the viewer to unravel and pick them apart. Interpersonal relations and psychology are strong themes in Levi’s works with an injection of humour and absurdity which can make them appear as film stills or odd moments captured in a photograph.
