A new exhibition at the Glasgow Gallery, The Sky, The Sky derives its title from Iris Murdoch’s The Sea The Sea. Its subtitle Ever Changing Moods (in turn taken from a 1980s hit song by English band The Style Council) encapsulates the behaviour of the sky above us. Art teacher Alan Wilson has curated the exhibition, comprising work by Jane Roy, Iain Campbell, Blair Thomson, Pete Morrison and Alan himself.
He says, ‘The sky is full of mood and expression and so it offers the opportunity for multiple artistic interpretations as can be seen in the group; a challenge for our individual artistic engagement. It seems to be a subject with never-ending possibilities for artists, and as a group we have embraced it.’
