Arran Ross: An Artist’s Odyssey at Fidra Fine Art in Gullane is the result of the award-winning Leith-based artist’s enforced stranding for over a year in Cyprus, where he was spending a two-month residency at Cyprus College of Art, but was unable to return due to lockdown. The exhibition includes exuberantly colourful work created there as well as work from some of his other travels. There are also examples from his visual narrative The Astronaut, featuring a  mysterious time-traveller on a surrealistic voyage with hints of Hieronymous Bosch, Swift and Dante as well as modern icons such as Stanley Kubrick, Pink Floyd and David Bowie.
