In a solo show, Aberfeldy-based painter Lindsay Turk is showing a collection of her still-life works – her first exhibition of exclusively still-life work. A Masters graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, Lindsay is artist-in-residence at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, and has said, ‘The still lives in this exhibition feature an eclectic mix of objects. Some that hold meaning: knick-knacks collected over the years from various travels or things that have been passed down from previous generations. And some objects that may simply have an aesthetic appeal. The unusual curve of a spoon for example or the emerald-green glass of a transistor cap. Creating these paintings has been a chance to explore placement and arrangements, new colour palettes and combinations.’
In scenic, thriving Aberfeldy in Highland Perthshire, the Gallery showcases contemporary art by established and emerging Scottish artists. Also on show is a large variety of representational and impressionistic landscape and wildlife art, together with select scenes of beautiful Perthshire.
