This year is the UN’s International Year of Glass, and Galashiels-based glassmakers Lindean Mill – Annica Sandström and David Kaplan – are mounting an exhibition, Sea Change, as their contribution. The exhibition comprises a collection of small, wall-mounted glass panels made over the last couple of years, and a newly kiln-formed, free-standing panel titled ‘On the Horizon’ (pictured). The collection is the product of Annica’s work with off-cuts and surplus strips of glass, which have inspired new ideas, coupled with a new glass-cutting technique reached in collaboration with the National Glass Centre in Sunderland.
