At Glasgow’s Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA), Life-bestowing cadaverous soooooooooooooooooooot displays Scotland’s Rae-Yen Song‘s work as artist and researcher, exploring the interplay between life and death, as symbolised by the enigmatic title. Through research and collaboration with a line-up of international artists and others, artist Song contemplates the cyclical nature of creation and decay and, through a series of artworks, prototypes, experiments and research practices, invites viewers to speculate on the alternative futures which can  be built from the debris of the increasingly unliveable present.

The CCA’s Head of Programme Sabrina Henry comments, ‘Rae-Yen’s exhibition marks the beginning of what is hoped will be a transformative journey, where we join artists in their exploration to embrace art and culture’s potential for societal change. Amidst a turbulent global landscape, Rae-Yen’s research and exhibition is a gesture towards connection and an invitation to imagine the forms of life that can emerge.’
