Featuring eighteen new audio and video commissions from Leith-based artists and creators, from noon 26th Aug the new LeithLate Virtual Tour Map will showcase the many murals and art studios found across Leith, Edinburgh. The map reveals entertaining and informative audio histories of the sites from tour organiser Cameron Foster and many of the original artists, plus video tours of studios from the artists creating there.
LeithLate has also announced the return of its Light-Up Leith History Mural for a record run of ten nights from 25th Sep – 4th Oct – a unique, free projection event breathing new life into the beloved Leith History Mural, painted on a gable end on North Junction Street by Tim Chalk and Paul Grimes in the 1980s, which Leith-based Double-Take Projections has animated with an accompanying soundscape It’s billed as family-friendly, community event inviting audiences of all ages to experience a local treasure literally in a new light. Volunteer chefs from the locally-based enterprise Empty Kitchens, Full Hearts will be offering meals at bargain prices at the adjacent Leith Theatre.
