A special place known for its outstanding tuition and inclusive, caring ethos, leading Edinburgh art school Leith School of Art is well-known as an exceptional place to learn for established artists or complete beginners. Additionally, its charitable work breaks down barriers to art education, making its courses accessible to all regardless of circumstances.

However, over the last year, the pandemic has put the School under significant strain, so it has launched its Resilience Fund – a special appeal for donations to allow the School to continue its valuable work, keeping art at the centre of our recovery collectively and as individuals.

The special online event, on 23rd April, featured an illuminating talk by Angie Lewin, a skilled and thoughtful printmaker, draughtsperson and watercolourist, whose 20th century-inspired work has proved perennially popular. In addition to Angie’s talk, the hundred-strong audience was treated to talks from students, ex-students and staff from the School on the valuable role it plays it plays in the placing art, drawing, painting and printmaking at the centre of our personal and community development.
