Stills Centre for Photography in Edinburgh is to show Twenty Five: A Stills School Exhibition – photographic work by young people who participated in the Centre’s school programme in 2024.
The Centre fosters a journey of creative self-discovery in the students as they learn about turning light into images, exploring different genres of photography along the way, and by by experimenting they transform ideas into images.
The exhibition highlights work from students at various stages of their artistic endeavours, exploring themes of connection, within ourselves and with others, and rituals, from obsessive collecting to the comforting repetition of daily acts of care.
The Centre announced in December that Vivienne Gamble would begin work as its new Director, and has announced its entry into a partnership with major equipment supplier MPB, which will sponsor exhibitions, courses and community learning initiatives, providing access to equipment, resources and educational opportunities.
