Edinburgh exhibition space Graystone Gallery is mounting a new solo exhibition by Aberdeen-based artist Clive Ramage: Northern Lights features over 35 works, including several oil paintings of lighthouses and luminous moons, alongside mixed-media cityscapes of Edinburgh, watercolours and etchings of Scottish coastal villages, castles and mountains.

Clive’s Dunnottar Castle was recently shortlisted for the Scottish Landscape Awards, and typifies his fascination with atmospheric landscapes, the sea, and what lies beyond the horizon (as a child, he could see the Bell Rock lighthouse flashing from his bedroom window, and this has become a creative totem for him, signifying travel and adventure, light and darkness.)

Graystone Gallery relocated in October last year to Edinburgh’s Stockbridge, where there is a vibrant art scene, and this is its first solo show. It specialises in contemporary Scottish painting and sculpture.
