The next exhibition in the 10th anniversary programme at the Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock is Margaret Borthwick: Heartlands. Currently completing a BA (Honours) in Painting with the Open College of the Arts, Margaret’s work is inspired by the local environment, seasonal change and the decay and rebirth of woodlands and wetlands. Exploring both the detailed micro aspect of fungi and the more expressive macro aspects of the wider landscape, she also researches the history and legends of an area she is depicting.

Further exhibitions are scheduled in the light-filled upstairs gallery, including a summer open show to which anyone living in Inverclyde can submit a work.
