In an exhibition coinciding with the 26th UN Climate Change Conference, beginning in Glasgow on 31st October, English artist Kurt Jackson is exhibiting over twenty paintings seeking to re-establish the lost connection between our environment and ourselves at Edinburgh’s Dovecot Studios. Jackson is a long-time environmental campaigner through his art, and has collaborated with several UK environmental organisations. In Mermaids’ Tears, he references an earlier work of his own, and draws attention to the resin pellets or ‘nurdles’ from plastic manufacturing, currently taking a devastating toll on the environment, that must be eliminated from everyday production; he has also collaborated with Dovecot on a new artwork with Dovecot.
