Legally Blonde the Musical (currently showing at King’s Theatre, Glasgow until April 28) is a MUST see. It was an absolute delight to see Elle Woods on stage in such a fantastic theatre production. It’s an engaging and fun filled show, the audience was cheering and loving what was happening on stage. The atmosphere at King’s was incredible and it added to the overall fun, people were laughing loudly and clapping after every fantastic choreography! The cast was exceptional and every single person was casted perfectly, bringing something new to their roles but also maintaining the familiarity that people are so used to.

The smash hit Broadway and West End Musical based on the best loved movie follows beautiful and popular sorority sister Elle Woods who loves to be pampered and is passionate about pink. When she is dumped by her boyfriend Warner Huntingdon III for a more serious girlfriend she puts down the credit cards and picks up the books. Packing up her trusty pooch, Bruiser, she bags herself a place at the prestigious Harvard Law School to try and win him back. With the support of her new friends she learns that you can be both smart and fashionable.

The set was truly breath-taking and made the story come to life, creating a perfect pace for the whole show, stealing you away from reality and into the world of Legally Blonde. All of the most iconic scenes from the film are all included in this production and translated extremely well into a live experience. The songs are catchy, and you can’t help but move around in your seat and clap for the cast. Lucie Jones is absolutely phenomenal as Elle Woods and I could not get enough of her acting and singing. There were incredible dance routines courtesy of Dean Street and director Anthony Williams; the whole production is a true delight and I would love to see the show again.

If you’re looking for a light and tremendously fun night out at the theatre, Legally Blonde the Musical will be perfect for you. I am already planning my next time seeing it! Don’t miss it at King’s Theatre this April.
