The hundredth anniversary of the birth of electronic music pioneer Daphne Oram is being marked by a tour of music performances and workshops around the UK, which is due to arrive in Scotland in December.

The Oram/100 tour features performances by past winners of the Oram Awards, with opportunities to learn about electronic music, sound design, and creative technologies, which she pioneered – notably in the 1960s alongside Delia Derbyshire at the BBC’s Radiophonic Workshop in London.

The Awards support emerging female and gender-expansive musicians with mentorship, bursaries, and development opportunities.

The Edinburgh event on 13th December comprises performances by Justyna Jablonska, Aurora Engine, Bell Lungs and SLY DIG (pictured above and below), Silver Field and Vocifer with an improvised music tech jam hosted by Luci Holland & Tinderbox Lab. There wail also be a panel discussion with Luci Holland (Tinderbox Lab), Karen Sutton (Oram Awards), Dr John Hailes (Napier University) and more.
