Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum: Linda McCartney, Retrospective

Visit website

The Kelvingrove team have pulled off a bit of a coup in securing this major retrospective of Linda McCartney’s photographic work curated by Sir Paul and daughters Stella and Mary.
The show features iconic moments from the music and arts scene in the 60s and 70s highlighting Linda’s career as a chronicler amid a sector dominated by male photographers. Known for her portraits of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Hendrix and Clapton, Linda also had an eye for natural landscapes, animals, social issues, family life, and of course, the people and surroundings of Scotland.
The retrospective includes archive material like diaries, cameras, vintage magazines and photographic equipment forming a unique study of a much scrutinised era from the perspective of an artist who enjoyed first hand access while being detached enough to witness and capture events as they happened.
