Taking classes which fit into a parent’s school run schedule can sometimes be tricky, so high fives to the good folk at the Edinburgh New Town Cookery School in Queen Street, which is running a daytime cooking course. The Intermediate 10-2 Cooking Course is between 10am and 2pm on Tuesdays in March, making it perfect for parents who need to do the school drop-offs and pick-ups.
The four-week course covers different cooking methods including pasta and sauces, gelatine and pastry, meat and fish cooking and baking. And if your child is a budding Bake Off contestant, then the Children’s Baking Afternoon on Friday 17 April could be the answer. Kids aged nine to 13 can learn to make chocolate covered flapjacks, lemon butter bake and cheese scones.
