In her exhibition entitled Scotland: Darg and Drams (‘darg’ is a term for a day’s work in Scotland and Northeast England) at the Meffan Museum and Art Gallery in Forfar, Kate Steenhauer captures life in the shipyards, heliport and hangars of Aberdeen, the barns where whisky casks are made, livestock sales at Thainstone Mart and locals carousing in pubs to fiddle music with some 50 etchings, oil paintings and pencil and ink drawings.
