For their 10th anniversary season Jupiter Artland has unveiled a new, site-specific, permanent commission by Phyllida Barlow, a first for the artist, and a solo exhibition by the internationally renowned artist Joana Vasconcelos. Located just outside Edinburgh, Jupiter Artland has five gallery spaces and an expansive outdoor sculpture collection, featuring landscaped gardens and site-specific artworks from some of the world’s leading artists, including Antony Gormley, Charles Jencks, Anish Kapoor, Ian Hamilton Finlay, Andy Goldsworthy, Cornelia Parker and Marc Quinn. The site for each artwork has been personally selected by the artist. The works are set within the grounds of Bonnington House, a 17th century Jacobean manor house, and visitors are encouraged to explore the parkland and discover the artworks at their own pace.
Divided into two sections of Imagined Landscapes and Abstract Constructions, Ian McKinnell’s work originates in real-world images, retaining an organic ‘memory’ of the world.
