Jack Morrocco: Joie de Vivre at Fraser Gallery in St Andrews features a new collection of almost fifty paintings covering all aspects of the work of one of Scotland’s leading artists. Working from his studios in Fife and the south of France, Morrocco has an instantly recognisable style, using a sensuous palette to move with ease and confidence from still life to landscape to figurative work. His light-dappled Mediterranean scenes are especially popular.
The Gallery first opened its doors in 1862 in Dundee under the current co-owner’s great-grandfather, making it one of Scotland’s oldest privately-owned galleries with a portfolio which includes some of the country’s most collectable contemporary artists such as Francis Boag, David Mackie Cook, Nael Hanna, David Mackie Cook and John Kingsley.
